Did Identity Guard Device Secure find infected files on your computer? Don't worry. We make remediating an infection simple and efficient.
We're sad to hear that your computer contains infected files, but happy that Intrusta was able to find them! One of the great features of Identity Guard is that once we find an infected file, we contain it (quarantine) immediately and will automatically delete those infected files after 30 days.
How to Remediate the Infection
Your Scan Results page (example pictured below) will show you a list of all infected files. We recommend that you review the list very closely to ensure there are no files that you absolutely need. After that, you have a few options.
You can do nothing and we'll take care of the problem!
If you're sure you don't need any of the listed files, you can leave them alone and we'll automatically delete them in 30 days. From here, all you need to do is hit "Done" and you can get back to work!
You can delete the files immediately
We understand - You don't want to wait 30 days for the infections to be deleted and you want to get rid of them now. To the right side of each filename, you'll see a trash can icon. If you click that, the Intrusta app will immediately delete the infected file from your computer. Once more, we want to stress the importance of reviewing each filename and location to ensure you don't need one of them. Once they're deleted, you won't be able to get them back!
You can restore the files back to where they were
Ok, maybe there's a file that's infected that you actually need back temporarily. Or maybe you're sure that we found a false positive (please let us know!) and you want to restore that file. If you're sure you want to restore a quarantined file, you can just click the arrow to the right of the filename and the Intrusta app will put it right back where it found it.
